LEADERSHIP: A FOCUS ON THE MULTI-LEVEL EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM—THE ECOLOGY OF LEARNING*

Are you a district leader in charge of allocating teachers opportunities to professionally grow together and offer English Learners -and all other students- opportunities to learn? Do you make decisions about the purchase of educational materials, hiring and retention, teacher evaluation, assessment?

 

This five-day institute will present an ecological framework to understand and work to improve the interrelationships that exist between and across different parts of the system: classroom, school, neighborhood, parents, state, testing.

 

Emphasis will be placed on the coherence of actions that obtains between and across classroom activities, school programmatic instruction, district mandates, adopted curricula and state regulations.
