To develop the expertise of Social Studies, Language Arts, and English Language Development teachers to design learning opportunities that deliberately invite and support English Learners’ engagement in subject-specific disciplinary practices.
Reconsider what is entailed in deliberately crafting lessons and units of study that both invite, support, and challenge students as they engage in productive, disciplinary activity.
Develop expertise in guiding teachers on the coherent and deliberate design and implementation of well- scaffolded lessons for English Learners.
Learn to modify lessons to deepen students’ academic development in subject-specific literacy and oracy practices.
