QTEL SUMMER INSTITUTES
IMPLEMENTING RIGOROUS AND GENERATIVE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT*
As times change dramatically, educators need to keep developing their expertise to meet society’s changing needs and graduate students who have the skills required by the 21st century. Schools and school districts, thus, have to carefully consider the opportunities they will offer their educators to grow professionally.
In this institute we will consider a variety of venues informed by sociocultural/ecological theory, to develop the teacher professionalism required in a knowledge society. Participants will learn to analyze their context and design learning opportunities for their colleagues which will move the school practices and achievements forward.
Along the week, participants will design and critique learning venues to take back to their work.
