Objective:

To develop expertise in the functional language approach to teaching writing to English Learners

 

Participants will:

  • Deepen understandings of expository and argumentative texts

  • Develop expertise in scaffolding writing instruction that apprentices English Learners into the disciplinary practices of writing

  • Learn how to engage students in activities that allow them to explore, understand, and write within these genres
