COACHING*

Audience: Participants who have completed the QTEL Building the Base Institute or a QTEL Disciplinary Literacy Institute and wish to further develop capacity and understanding in pedagogical theory and classroom implementation.

Goal:

To develop participants’ expertise in the details and constitution of creating successful learning environments for English Learners within the context of state standards.

​

You will:

• Understand the Principles of QTEL and the shifts in instruction required to implement them

• Learn how to successfully guide teachers in the design and implementation of well-supported lessons that exemplify the QTEL Principles

• Develop expertise in instructional coaching to effectively lead planning conversations, conduct classroom observations, and provide growth-oriented feedback

• Analyze problematic classroom situations and model productive coaching behaviors
