MARTHA CASTELLÓN PALACIOS
Senior Program Associate
Martha Castellón Palacios, Ph.D., is a Senior Program Associate in Quality Teaching for English Learners (QTEL) within WestEd’s Teacher Professional Development Program. With expertise in second language acquisition teaching and research, creating educational equity for English learners has been her life-long passion.
Prior to her work at WestEd she served as the Equity Coordinator for the Palo Alto Unified School District, as Executive Director for Understanding Language, and as the Director of the Stanford CTEL/CLAD Program. She began her career as a bilingual elementary school teacher in Long Beach, CA.
Martha holds an A.B. in English from Stanford University, an M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language from UCLA, and a Ph.D. in Educational Linguistics from Stanford University.
