MARTHA CASTELLÓN PALACIOS

Senior Research Associate

Martha Castellón Palacios is a Senior Research Associate with the Quality Teaching for English Learners initiative at WestEd, where she engages in research, reviews English Learner services, and provides technical assistance to districts and states. With expertise in second language teaching and research both in ESL and the content areas, creating educational equity for English Learners has been her lifelong passion.

 

Prior to her work at WestEd, she served as the Equity Coordinator for the Palo Alto Unified School District, as the Executive Director for Understanding Language, and as the Director of the Stanford CTEL/CLAD Program.

 

She began her career as a bilingual elementary school teacher in Long Beach, California.
