TARGET AUDIENCE

School and district leaders who are interested in leading change to promote instructional equity for English Learners at their sites.

OVERVIEW

As we prepare for students nationwide to return to the classroom in the fall, it is important to foster a commitment to deepening and accelerating learning for English Learners, rather than focus on remediation. To address this need, QTEL is offering this leadership course in order to position educators to provide English Learners with optimal and appropriate support to deepen and accelerate their language and content development after an extended period of distance learning.

Leaders in this course will:

  • Experience how to lead sustained, focused, professional learning that develops the capacity of teachers to ensure all English Learners reach their full potential.

  • Receive a Professional Learning Community (PLC) toolkit and all accompanying materials used in the course to implement at their schools.

Note: Teachers are encouraged to attend the QTEL e-Series: A Pedagogy of Promise which serves as a compliment to the learning that leaders will gain from this Leadership e-Series.
