The Quality Teaching for English Learners team at WestEd is delighted to announce the publication of a digital lesson educators can use to support English Learners in distance learning. The lesson explores the theme of advertising in the modern world, and it is the first adapted lesson from a unit Persuasion Across Time and Space previously created for the Understanding Language initiative at Stanford University, licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License. We have adapted the lesson to use in synchronous and asynchronous instruction with intermediate and above English Learners.
The materials are suitable for use in a variety of distance learning formats and offer educators a range of choices to maximize the quality of interactions their English Learners engage during distance learning. Click here to access the lesson.
