CMC-North 65th Annual Conference



This Saturday, December 3, Guillermo Lopez will be presenting at the California Mathematics Council-North 65th Annual Conference at Asilomar in Pacific Grove, CA. His presentations focus on deepening understanding of the components of high-quality instruction in mathematics that provides English Learners students with opportunities to develop mathematical conceptual knowledge and English simultaneously.


Supporting English Learnings in Mathematics Grades 9-12 How can teachers plan for instruction that maximizes students’ success? Teachers will learn how to plan for rigorous (high challenge) grade level tasks, while embedding instructional scaffolds (high support) in mathematics. This session focuses on deepening an understanding of the components of high-quality instruction in mathematics that provides English Learner students with opportunities to develop mathematical conceptual knowledge and English simultaneously.
