We are thrilled to celebrate the recent certification of a remarkable cohort of educators from the School District of Philadelphia who have successfully completed the QTEL Apprenticeship. These educators have demonstrated both a deep commitment to quality learning for multilingual learners as well as leadership and the deep expertise needed to carry this work forward in their classrooms, departments, schools, and communities.

The QTEL Professional Development Certification Program is rooted in apprenticeship. Over multiple phases, participants engage in collaborative learning, observation, and co-facilitation, gradually taking on more responsibility as they deepen their understanding of QTEL’s theoretical model and practical instructional tools. With each phase, participants move closer to full independence, ultimately becoming local leaders in professional learning and instructional improvement aligned with district initiatives and needs.

This cohort exemplified the spirit of the program—learning deeply, reflecting critically, and leading with integrity.

To our colleagues at the School District of Philadelphia, congratulations on this milestone. Your dedication and expertise are paving the way for lasting, meaningful change. We’re proud to have walked alongside you and excited for what’s ahead.
