Join Jennifer Blitz and Kate Wright at NABE 2025

The number of people in the United States who speak a language other than English at home has nearly tripled over the last three decades. As a nation, we are beginning to understand and promote the understanding that bilingualism and biliteracy are crucial for students’ educational and economic success, global competitiveness, and engagement. In other words, being multilingual, multiliterate, and multicultural is a superpower.

At this February's National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE) conference, co-presenters Jen Blitz, Kate Wright, and Melissa Castillo (U.S. Department of Education) will share how they collaborated with state and local education agency experts nationwide who have created and implemented the policies, processes, programs, and practices necessary for English Learners and all students to have access to high-quality Dual Language Immersion (DLI) programs.

In turn, their goal is for participants to leave with a deeper understanding of the evidence-based practices implemented in these states and districts and the processes they have utilized to implement them. Additionally, participants will get the opportunity to explore resources they can use when developing, sustaining, and scaling DLI programs in their contexts.

Join our colleagues at the NABE Conference in Atlanta, Georgia in February 2025.
