NABE Reflections: Mary Schmida’s Passion for Linguistics and Language

The English Learners and Migrant Education Services (ELMES) team members recently attended the National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE) Conference this past March in New Orleans, Louisiana. From presenting to their peers to managing the booth, the team was heavily involved in the conference, including Senior Research Associate Mary Schmida. She presented in a session during the conference.

Reflecting on her work leading to the conference, the ELMES VOICE team asked Mary to share why she is passionate about her work. Here is what she shared with us.
