Education Program Associate
Lee Hartman is an Educational Program Associate for English Language Arts in WestEd’s Teacher Professional Development Program. He currently serves with the rest of the Quality Teaching for English Learners team to create and implement learning experiences for educators in 4th through 12th grade schools.
As a classroom teacher for more than a decade, Lee worked with language minority students with particular emphasis on Newcomers. He now uses that experience to enhance the pedagogical knowledge and practice of the educators with whom he works. He then went on to hold a position as an instructional coach designing and implementing new curriculum and professional development for both educators and students that wove together language theory and practice.
He received a BA from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with studies in Querétaro, Mexico and Alcalá de Henares, Spain. He also holds an MA from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
