PATRICIA LÓPEZ-HURTADO
Program Assistant

Patricia López-Hurtado is a Program Assistant for the English Learners and Migrant Education Services (ELMES) content area team at WestEd. She designs and produces print and online materials for audiences of teachers, students, policy makers, and others for both the ELMES team and the National Research & Development Center to Improve Education for Secondary English Learners at WestEd. She is responsible for ensuring that materials represent consistent, professional standards in design and execution. As part of the Visibility, Outreach, and Eminence working group, she coordinates marketing efforts to promote ELMES work.

Prior to her employment at WestEd, López-Hurtado worked at the San Mateo County Community Colleges Foundation as a student assistant/graphic designer. She also worked as a freelance illustrator creating posters for the promotion of intercultural bilingual education programs and seminars for PROEIBAndes (Programa de Formación en Educación Intercultural Bilingüe para los Países Andinos), Bolivia.

López-Hurtado brings a background in painting as well as graphic design to her work. She received a BFA in Painting, from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and AAs in Graphic and Web Design from the College of San Mateo. She has received graphic design, web design, and photography awards and has exhibited her artwork in Peru and the United States.
