CASEY MCALDUFF
English Learner Program Associate, Secondary Social Studies

Casey McAlduff is an educator and writer who spent the last decade teaching college writing and high school English Language Arts, Social Studies, and English Language Development courses in Oakland, California. Now located in Chicago, she works with colleagues across the country to leverage English Learners' language skills through WestEd's Quality Teaching for English Learners (QTEL) approach.

 

Casey received her MA in Education from UC Berkeley's Multicultural Urban Secondary English (MUSE) program in 2016. Additionally, she earned an MFA in Creative Writing from Saint Mary's College in 2012, and holds a BA in Creative Writing and Spanish from the University of Southern California. She is also an advisor to the Bay Area Writing Project, and loves collaborating with fellow educators and writers. She is passionate about QTEL and the opportunities it provides to integrate student-centered, equitable, and critically-conscious pedagogy into any curricula.
