Since the pandemic started, the QTEL team has been focused on studying how distance learning is impacting English Learners, and has responded by developing tools, resources, and solutions to work with you in providing rigorous and well supported instruction for English Learners.
We continue to partner with schools and districts to deepen educator expertise and have developed a variety of QTEL e-Series and online courses to support teachers, in distance learning, as we wait for schools to fully open and be able to support in-person meetings. This Fall, we will offer one of these courses for open enrollment. The QTEL e-Series: A Pedagogy of Promise is a four-module learning series that engages participants in synchronous and asynchronous learning to develop expertise in working with English Learners. In addition to the need to develop educator expertise to serve English Learners in distance learning, one of the greatest challenges of the last few months has been the lack of quality curriculum for working in distance learning with English Learners.
