Program Associate in Science

Tanya Warren is a Program Associate in Science for the English Learner and Migrant Education Services content area team at WestEd. Warren works with secondary science teachers across the nation to expand their capacity to challenge and support English Learners in three-dimensional science learning. For this purpose, Warren designs educative curriculum materials about important science core ideas, practices, and cross-cutting concepts that enable educators to experience the quality learning opportunities that will benefit their English Learners. Warren also contributes to research and development projects in science and engineering, such as those expanding access to quality engineering in the elementary grades. Previously, Warren served a variety of roles in the Fort Worth Independent School District, including as a Reading, English as a Second Language, and Science teacher at the International Newcomer Academy as well as a district-level Curriculum Specialist for Secondary ESL. Warren holds a BA in English Literature from Bryn Mawr College.
